Why Key Clinic

We teach the fundamentals, not just the tool

Most courses teach which button to press on which machine. When the tool or the vehicle changes, that knowledge expires. We teach electricity, electronics and how microcontrollers think, so you can reason your way through a module you have never opened.

🔧 Real rigs, real systems

We break a vehicle into the systems that run it, and each one is a working rig you measure, fault and repair.

🎯 Beginners welcome

No electronics experience needed. The programme builds step by step from the basics.

🤖 AI in your workflow

Use AI for datasheets, fault-finding logic and repair documentation, and learn what it cannot replace.

🖨️ Build your own tools

3D print jigs and fixtures, and build your own ECU tester with Arduino or ESP32.

🦾 Robotics introduction

See how the same control principles apply to robots: power, controller, sensors and actuators.

🎓 Certification pathway

We prepare you for the Electrosmiths exam. The credential is awarded on passing it.

The training floor

Seven zones, one vehicle taken apart

Each zone is a system of a vehicle, built as a live rig. You rotate through them as the programme progresses.

Network & Body

BCM, instrument cluster and ECU linked by a vehicle network, with lamps as loads.

Engine Control

An ECU driving injectors and ignition: sensors in, actuators out.

Fluid Control

Fuel injection, transmission controller and ABS: electronics controlling pressure systems.

Mechatronics

Wiper, seat and window motors: motor drivers and position control.

Power & Safety

Battery management, airbag/SRS circuits and ADAS sensors.

Electronics Lab & Fabrication

Scopes, logic analysers, micro soldering, 3D printing and AI tools.

Curriculum

The 3 months, week by week

Four practical gates keep you honest. You are assessed on real work, not just theory.

MONTH 1

The machine & the electronics

Week 1 Petrol engines and engine sensors

Week 2 Diesel, emissions, fluid control basics

Week 3 Electrical foundations, wiring diagrams

Week 4 Components, MOSFETs, oscilloscope

Gate 1: diagnose an unfamiliar wiring fault
MONTH 2

Networks & inside the control unit

Week 5 Harnesses, relays, motor control

Week 6 CAN, LIN, K-Line, automotive Ethernet

Week 7 How a computer boots, ECU supply rails

Week 8 Microcontroller families, build your tester

Gate 2: capture a live network and trace the fault
MONTH 3

Real modules, real faults

Week 9 Module data, boot monitoring, micro soldering

Week 10 Engine and transmission control

Week 11 ABS, airbag, ADAS, battery systems

Week 12 Robotics, 3D printing, AI, capstone

Gate 3 (Week 9): identify the MCU and extract module data
Gate 4 (Week 12): capstone on an unseen module
AFTER MONTH 3

What happens next

Strong students may be selected, based on attendance, gate results, practical skill and conduct, for supervised workbays or a trainer track. Terms are provided in writing. Places are limited and not guaranteed.

We prepare you for the Electrosmiths exam. The credential is awarded on passing it. We cannot promise a job or income.
